The theme (and even the task) of Passover, as outlined in the Hagaddah, is to imagine ourselves leaving Egypt.

As someone who’s always loved imagining and drawing, I was excited to combine the two together and create a book where kids could do exactly that: use art to imagine themselves leaving Egypt.

Although it happened so long ago, and the world has changed so much since then, our Exodus from Egypt is a fundamental part of our heritage as Jewish people.

This book contains prompts and drawing starters to help children imagine they were part of it.

Best for ages 6-12.

Early Reviews from Educators and Clergy:

“Sari's thoughtful storybook design helps children draw themselves into the Passover story in a fun, imaginative way, helping them bring the story to life!”

-Gail Greenberg

“Looking for a way to really fulfill the mitzvah of lirot et atzmo k'ilu hu yatza miMitzrayim - see yourself as if you, yourself left Egypt? Look no farther. Sari has created a fun and meaningful way for children to see themselves in the story of the Exodus from Egypt and she has done so with tremendous artistic skill and a deep understanding of child development.”

-David Paskin

“In the tradition of Susan Striker's groundbreaking Anti-Coloring books, Sari guides participants through evocative exercises that truly inject them into the heart of the epic origin story of the Jewish people. Never has ‘in every generation one must think of oneself as having escaped Egypt’ been more dynamically directed, or more fun!”
